Austin Aldrich

Bass Mentor, Huron

Austin is a junior at Huron and has been playing upright bass since fifth grade. His love of music includes various genres and he currently is part of the jazz programs at Huron and Community High School. Equally adept on electric bass, Austin has played in the pit orchestra for many musical theater productions in Ann Arbor.

His favorite recent moments in music include the opportunity to represent Huron at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago last year, being a part of the 2018 Michigan All-State Honors Orchestra, performing at Interlochen the past two summers and impromptu jam sessions with his friends at Cliff Bell’s in Detroit. Being part of the Symphony Orchestra at Huron has deepened Austin’s appreciation for classical music and has helped him grow as a person.

Away from music, Austin is a part of the Varsity teams at Huron for Hockey and Golf. He plans on attending college but does not know where. He tries to enjoy everything as much as he can regardless of the situation. ​
