Cayley Choi
Violin Mentor, Pioneer
Hello! I am Cayley and I am going to be a senior at Pioneer High School. I started playing violin and piano at the age of 6, but chose to pursue violin after few years and played it for the next 12 years. I was a concertmaster in Sinseo Elementary School Orchestra in 5th and 6th grade and also was a founder of the orchestra. I was in a Little Star violin/cello Studio for 7 years and had a lot of experience in solos, quartets, and orchestra by monthly and annual concerts. Currently, I am a concertmaster of STAK Orchestra, a church volunteer orchestra organization.
Although I hated to play violin during the first few years that I almost wanted to just cut off the strings (and I actually have tried it..!), I genuinely began to love playing violin as I got to use vibrato and bowing more properly and understand classic music. I nearly stopped playing violin few years before I moved to Michigan, but Pioneer Orchestra encouraged me to pick up my violin again and put all my passion into music. I really love playing music in orchestra and, through PPL, I hope to help orchestra members enjoy playing in orchestra even more too. Outside from orchestra, I am a member of NHS, Pioneer Student Council, and student teacher of Ann Arbor Korean School. I like to draw, sing, read comics, watch Youtube in my bed, make milk teas, and hang out downtown :) |
