Emma Shedden
Violin Mentor & Middle School Liaison, Huron
Emma started playing violin in 4th grade after going home from school one day and begging her mom to let her play an instrument. Despite a brief rebellious phase in middle school when she switched to oboe, she has been pretty happy with her choice. In 9th grade, she joined YMMA, and mentored at her alma mater—Tappan!—for two years before switching over to Clague. Now a rising Huron senior, she has grown to love and appreciate the orchestra community and the opportunity to laugh at her non-orchestra friends who have to worry about the last day of finals week while she gets ready for the orchestra family picnic. While not doing orchestra stuff, Emma can be found at the night market in Taiwan, drinking bubble tea.
