James Xiu
Clarinet Mentor, Huron
James Xiu is a clarinet player and a junior at Huron High School. He picked up the clarinet in 5th grade when he was at Thurston, originally planning to switch to the saxophone. Fortunately, he stayed with clarinet, and is now a part of the Huron clarinet family. He has shared in many amazing experiences with the band, among them sleeping during football games, earning free ice cream at band camp, and fooling around with the other clarinets in class. He currently is a part of the Huron Symphony Band, as well as the Michigan Youth Symphony Orchestra. By doing PPL, James hopes to spread his enthusiasm for clarinet and encourage more young people to play an instrument by making quality private lessons available to everyone.
Besides school, James participates in a variety of school clubs and sports, such as Cross-country, Academic Games, and Ocean Bowl. In his free time, he likes to read fantasy, browse YouTube, and play chess. James hopes to go to a good college in the future and major in something related to computer science. He is very excited to join PPL and spread his love of music. |
