Jennifer Meng
Violin Mentor & Junior Operating Officer, Pioneer
Jennifer Meng is a violinist of the Pioneer Symphony Orchestra. She started playing violin at the age of eight, with three years of prior piano experience. Having served as concertmaster all three years of orchestra at Forsythe Middle School, Jennifer found a particular happiness in playing with other mucisians and has strived to be a devoted member of orchestra in high school. Currently a junior, she doesn’t regret that choice. Coming into high school, especially one as large as Pioneer, Jennifer was often overwhelmed, but orchestra was the one thing that helped her re-orient herself as she adapted to a high school environment. She will never forget how helpful and friendly the orchestra members were to her, and hopes that through PPL, she can become one of those people for anyone feeling out of place in orchestra.
Aside from music, Jennifer is also passionate about art and composition. She is part of the Sustainability Coalition at Pioneer and enjoys spending time in nature. Even though she doesn’t participate in any theatre guilds, Jennifer is a huge Shakespeare enthusiast, which many of her peers find appalling. She also has a strong interest in biology and plans to pursue a career in the biomedical field. |
