Katie Joo

Outreach Director
Picture
Katie is a senior at Huron High School. She has played violin since the end of fourth grade. In fifth grade, she wanted to try something new: the flute. However, she quickly realized that band instruments were not for her, especially because she quickly ran out of breath and ended up panting. Katie continues to play violin today because she loves the connection that she can have with others while playing music. Katie made her first friends in high school through the Huron orchestra family. Through PPL, she hopes that she can share her passion for music while helping others develop their own skills and love for music.

Outside of PPL, Katie likes to listen and sing along to pop music although she might not be quite in pitch. She is particularly fond of reading and tries to find a bit of time every couple of days to spend finding a new challenge or even just re-reading books that she has already read. Katie’s main future plan is to get ready for college. She believes that wherever she ends up, she will have an outstanding time.
