Osip Surdutovich
Outreach Director
Osip is a senior at Huron High School. He began playing violin in third grade, his brother had played violin in high school, and Osip was motivated to try what he had seen his brother doing. In fifth grade Osip decided to have a taste of a different instrument, he chose the cello. Unfortunately, he did not like the cello much, it was too big and required a lot of stretching. Osip proceeded to drop cello, sticking with violin; he continues to play today because even in the roughest times in life, music can help you stop worrying and remain confident. Some of his favorite moments while playing is when he finally can play a difficult section in his solo or when the orchestra at school finally comes together and plays beautifully. Outside of school he does a summer camp in which a group of high school kids play small chamber ensembles together for a week. In PPL, Osip hopes to share his knowledge and love with music as well as helping kids go further with their own experience of music.
Outside of PPL Osip is on the swim team at Huron. He enjoys playing sports outside with his friends as well as going to the movies. Some of his favorite subjects in school is history and Spanish. Osip always tries to be open minded and not be mad at anyone. In his future Osip intends on going to college and after that he doesn’t know what he’ll want to do. Whatever he does he wants to have fun in his future profession. |
